Lee Ritenour’s 3rd Annual Six String Theory Global Music Competition is now accepting entries in Guitar, Piano, Bass or Drums! Winning musicians in piano, bass & drums will record a track on Lee Ritenour’s 2012 Concord Records album starring a ‘who’s who’ of greats such as: Dave Grusin, Nathan East, Will Kennedy, Dave Weckl, George Duke, John Beasley, Sonny Emory, Larry Goldings, Stanley Clarke and more. Prize packages include: Berklee College of Music Scholarships, Yamaha instruments & endorsements, Monster prizes, professional mentoring and a shot at a Concord Records. Guitar finalists will also win Crown of the Continent & National Guitar Workshop scholarships, featured musician performance at workshops, vacation package for 2 to Montana (8,000 value) + various D’Addario prizes. Special $2,500 cash prize for classical guitar finalist. All 6 guitar finalists also will receive a $500 prize.

Lee Ritenour is recording his Concord Records album tentatively titled “Rhythm Sessions” to be released later this year. The album will star a ‘who’s who’ of rhythm players such as Dave Grusin, Nathan East, Will Kennedy, Dave Weckl, George Duke, John Beasley, Sonny Emory, Larry Goldings, Stanley Clarke and more. Plus, the 3 winning rhythm players from the 2012 competition get to record a track on the album, which is a compelling human interest tie in.

*Shon Boublil was the 2010 6 String Theory Guitar Grand Prize winner. Shon won a full-ride, 4 year scholarship to Berklee College of Music and is currently in his 2nd year. Shon also recorded a track on Lee Ritneour’s 2010 album “6 String Theory” starring a list of guitar luminaries. Shon is also opening for Lee in a Ontario, Canada performance this year.
*David Brown Murray was the 2011 6 String Theory Guitar Grand Prize winner and won Yamaha instruments/endorsement; the feature player at the 2012 National Guitar Workshop; professional mentoring from Lee Ritenour; a week vacation for 4 at Flathead Lake Lodge in MT ($8,000 value) as well as the publicity & promotion from his winning performance at Crown of the Continents Guitar Workshop & Festival 2011. The global music competition is open in 4 instrument categories: Piano/Keyboards, Guitar, Bass & Drums.
